I've been putting wraps in the bed with us of night after they come off the line so that they get our smell. I've also been putting a hotwater bottle in the crib so that it is warm when I put him down (obviously I take the hot water bottle out!) ... my thinking is it is like body-warmth.
It doesn't always work. But hey... anything is worth a try hey?

A warmish wheat bag wrapped around her so she can feel the pressure like she would if you had your hand on her. With Sax I would start with my hand and then slowly replace it with the wheat bag(and try putting her on her side not back)

I'll swap you for a 4 year old that has been up since 5am and wants to go to the monster trucks tonight but wont go and have a sleep :(

A beautiful illustration Sam, I love that tiny detail of her two eyelashes going out of the frame.

Our little one didn't want to sleep during the day (night-time was fine) unless she was being held. There was a lot of sling wearing in our house so that I could get things done.

Hey Sam, I think I felt the same with babies, lonely but not sad. A long way away from 'regular' stuff. I use to trick Sam like a puppy. I wrapped a quietly ticking clock in clothes I had been wearing. Worked for months.
