This Saturday I'll be doing my first market since having Xanadu. Clearly I wasn't thinking straight when I decided to do a market with a 3 month old. Clearly in the 4 years it's been since I've had a 3 months old I've forgotten that they take up A LOT of time!
Anyhoo, this Saturday I'll be at the BrisStyle indie Eco Market...yep! I'm excited to be at a market again and nervous about how Xanadu will cope with being out all day and the early start and feeding her and way too many other things to mention.....
I've managed to squeeze in a little making time lately thanks to a visit from my Mum who watched the Xan whilst I re-aquainted myself with Suzy Scroll-Saw. I made this little fella from an old piece of floor board. He's just the right size to sit nicely on a shelf or a bench!
Oh, yes.....admitting defeat....well I've decided that this will be my last market for the year so I can focus on getting stock to various places (jeepers I've got so much to catch up on) and enjoy my new baby girl and boys as well. I'll be back doing markets next year when things are a little easier! It makes me wonder....what things have you put on hold whilst your tiny ones grow to be a little less tiny?
Please do pop by on Saturday if you're in 'da hood......I'll have the baby with me!!
Oh and before I go, thanks so much for the tricky tricks for tricking tiny girls to sleep. I'm happy to say that she's sleeping very nicely at night now without being held (hip-hip hooray!) but is still a little tricky in the day.

Very tempting to hop on a plane just to give Xanadu a cuddle. Best of luck Sam, and enjoy your market break.
ReplyDeleteTricks? Leave her home with your husband or mum?! Good luck... I really hope it all works out OK. Set yourself a treat for getting through it OK, like a big hot bath and glass of wine (mug of hot chocolate?) when you get home, so if you are feeling under stress for whatever reason, you can think, it's OK, just a couple more hours and I'll be home in my bath/ under my doona/ watching a movie/ eating take away!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you've been defeated at all. Bravo for making things at all I say ... and doing a market - well that is just out of this world BRAVO.
