Christmas...decisions, decisions.....

christmas bauble by jetta's nest

This year I actually feel a little bit into Christmas!  It's an odd feeling for me because I'm usually so cranky at all the commercialism and over-consumption that goes along with this time of the year.  Maybe it's cos the kids are excited....I don't know but I even bought wrapping paper the other day for the first time ever! I usually use brown paper and twine for all gifts....my biggest boy was a little bit shocked and quite a bit excited!

With 3 weeks left of school I'm in the midst of what to make for teachers decisions.  Biggest boy has two teachers and so has littlest boy so with four teachers to make something for I really need to get cracking.  Last year I made cookies in a jar which went down a treat but this year there are gluten intolerances to consider and other such foodie things so I'm thinking it's easier to avoid edible gifts this time round.

I'm thinking some totes made out of some of my lovely stash of fabrics, maybe with one of my timber brooches attached (thinking an apple or a pencil).  What do you think?  What do you make for your little ones teachers?

Xanadu has just woken from her 10 minute slumber......best go see if I can get her back to sleep!!!!

  1. I bought Miss M's teacher a small Apple & Bee make up purse, a Bee Natural Lip Balm, a Harmony Soapworks goats milk soap! It's not handmade but hoping she's happy with those 'eco-friendly' treats!

If I was a teacher and got a tote from you I would be ecstatic!! Can you whip up 4 in time without stress?

I actually bought Christmas wrapping paper this year too... from Inky Co. and cannot wait to wrap up our presents with it, red twine around, and my homemade gift tags... exciting!

  2. Yeah, I think I can whip up 4 totes without stress. They're basic and quick so if I get them all cut I can sew them easily (fingers crossed!). I can't wait to wrap pressies too....very strange for me, I'm usually so bah humbug!
