Today we had to make the very difficult decision to say goodbye to our big-girl dog, Saffy. We certainly didn't expect to be making this decision today but this morning she just couldn't walk....it was awful.
Our vet thinks that she had either developed some sort of infection in her spine or perhaps the cancer in her foot (which we've had cut out before) had finally taken a hold on her body. We could have subjected her to all sorts of potions and poking but we decided that she'd been through enough in her life and it was time to say goodbye.
Poor old girl. It was so sad to see a dog who'd spent so many years running not even be able to walk to her water dish.
You'll be missed Saff's. More than you would ever know.

So sorry for your loss Sam. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet, they are family after all.
I'm sorry to hear about Saffy. We had to do the same with our little dog on Christmas Eve and it's been harder than I thought it would be. Take care of yourself.

Devastating Sam. Sympathies. Sounds like happy memories of her will abound.

How sad for you guys, and I hope Saffy is having a lovely time running around no in Doggy Heaven... thinking of you in such a sad time.
Oh Sam, just read this post and feel so sad for you. I dread the idea that we might have to make a decision like this one day for our dog. I hope you are all ok and coming to terms with it now. It sounds like she had a wonderful life.
